Developing Arts-Based Learning Across the Primary Curriculum
(and facilitating Professional Development in the Teaching of the Arts)
I am very pleased to be able to offer you and your school the opportunity to be involved in the above project, taking place over the next 12 months.
Partly in recognition of the success of our last project – Putting Arts-Based Learning at the Centre of the Primary Curriculum – we have received further generous funding from the Arts Council South West to continue our curriculum-based work in schools.
In order to access this funding – we have been given a grant of £17,000 in the first instance – we need a written statement of support (e-mails or letters) from 20 schools expressing their interest and intention to be part of the project. There are places for 25 schools in total over the year.
We intend starting in April at the beginning of the Summer Term. The idea is for you to choose a term for your bespoke project to happen in; Summer (2007), Autumn (2007), or Spring (2008). You get 6 artist days for the price of less than 3; cost to you is £300 (our daily rate is £150) which includes our expenses.
I am attaching the project proposal with this document and sort of apologise for its length but it is really important to us that you read through it and understand the aims and intentions of what you would be getting involved with. There is also examples of our previous work and practice and how to find out more about us if you are not already aware of our work.
If you would like to express an initial interest in being involved could you let me know asap and then I can send you the application form etc in due course. This won’t be anything too heavy but we have promised the Arts Council we will fill the project using certain criteria – I have attached the appendix relevant to that for your information.
